Monmouth University features an array of Information Technology courses for most majors [IT 100], Math and Science majors [IT 102], and Business majors . These courses feature problem based assessments across a variety of platforms. Pearson MyITLab assesses students on simulations and projects. Students are also assessed by the instructor by completing various assessment tools and submitting them to the Learning Management System, called eCampus.
This session will present UMUC’s approach to developing a CBE model. In this model, project-based assessments contain OERs necessary for students to be successful. The assessments and resources are carefully designed and specifically aligned to take advantage of the data analytics.
The increased demand for online and hybrid education encourages an evaluation of the differences in academic engagement among students that take such courses compared to those that take traditional courses. The research questions to be addressed include 1) Are students that take more classes online or hybrid less academically engaged than those who take courses in person?
COHLIT supports Rutgers academic units University-wide in creating and delivering hybrid and fully online courses, and is heavily involved in both for-credit as well as non-credit online and hybrid education. Find out more.
